Change of Name for API-UK
Since API-UK became The Astrological Psychology Association Ltd (a not for profit company limited by guarantee), we are gradually co-ordinating all of our literature, publicity and the website to reflect this change in status.
All instances of APA refer to the Astrological Psychology Association (UK based and independent)
All instances of API refer to API Switzerland or other overseas schools.
Tutors and graduates of the Association before the name change still retain the title Dip. API. Dip. APA will be awarded to graduates who qualify after the name change.
It was pioneered by Swiss astrologers and psychologists Bruno and Louise Huber in the early 1960’s, and combines the best of traditional astrology with modern growth psychology.
Astrological psychology is concerned primarily with the self development of the individual, and focuses on mental, physical, emotional and spiritual growth. It addresses such questions as "What can I do to reach self-realisation?" It is interested in the whole person, and looks at how that person can begin to integrate the different parts of their personality and overcome the inner conflicts and blocks which may stop them from realising their full potential. Astrological psychology seeks to put people in the driving seat of their lives, making their own choices about what they should do and how they would like to develop their lives.
