George W Bush

Whilst the media continue to speculate on the likelihood of George Bush remaining in residence at the White House beyond the US Presidential elections in November, it is interesting to have an astrological perspective on the inner motivating drives of Mr. Bush, as shown in his chart.
Dubya has a strikingly "I" sided chart, strongly focussed on the personal self and suggesting he may not find it the easiest of things to go out and meet people and make contact with them. His chart indicates that it could be preferable and certainly easier for him, where encounters of most kinds are concerned, to hang back and stay where he feels safe. He may feel vulnerable and exposed, even invaded, if he does not get time alone where he can relax, time away from meeting and mingling with people on the front line.
Soon after he entered the White House as President, there were rumours in the press that he liked to be in bed by 10p m, and took a nap in the afternoon - if true, these would be a sure fire way ensuring some personal space for himself! Like our PM Tony Blair, Bush has a 12th House Sun, emphasising this need to be alone, and take time out for himself. A Cancerian, he will be likely to hold dear to his heart all things pertaining to the family, and his chart gives the impression of a close-knit family "firm". Here we have only to think of both father and son holding the office of President, with brother Jeb being dubiously involved in the "hanging and swinging chads" fiasco in Miami state when Dubya was elected.
In his chart, his mother appears as a quiet but present influence, but probably not in the sphere of politics, and his relationship with his father may be sparky at times. Both his parents have been, and may well continue to be, a strong influence in his life. He will look up to them, especially his father. Bush doesn't have huge reserves of energy and is likely to rely on others around him taking care of what needs to be done when necessary. He will let them "do his doing" for him, something which is worth speculating on in view of the advisors he has chosen to have close to him. In some respects, he may long for life to be easy and relaxed, and although he may not exactly have been born with a silver spoon in his mouth, he has probably always experienced life as easy and bountiful.
In July 2004, Bush will be 58. His Age Point has recently been through the Low Point of the 10th House, forcing him to review and examine his position as the man in the most powerful position in world - a crisis of career or status often accompanies this stage of life's journey. In addition to this, he is fast approaching his second Saturn return, emphasising this as a time of reckoning and change, a test of maturity and perhaps a complete change of direction. This will be hot and bubbling from late October and all through November. Watch out for the results of the Presidential election!
