JOYCE, the voice of APA on BBC Radio. Joyce’s 2007 Astrology Topics on BBC Radio Stoke

Joyce Hopewell

Having been broadcasting every month for 5 years as Resident Astrologer on BBC Radio Stoke, the presenter I've been working with has been moved to pastures new and is strolling down memory lane with his new programme "Surfin' the Seventies" on Monday evenings. I'm still Radio Stoke's Astrologer and I'll still be on air from time to time, though.

In the Spotlight!

What I've said to some of the astrology phone-in callers (you can also have a look at the topics covered in 2006)

On Monday 8th January I concentrated on LifeClock, looking at the psychological life phase that the callers I spoke to were travelling through, as well as saying something about their planetary line up. Rather than put just one caller in the spotlight, I’m putting them all there this time around!

Oggie (born 20.3.1974) and Emma (born 13.4.1971) both have the hand of the LifeClock moving through the 6th House of their charts. This period of life, between the ages of 30 and 36, is one of establishing ourselves in the work place, so we might change jobs, seek promotion, make a change of direction in career, or learn new skills to enable us to progress at work. It’s a time when we’ll want to assert ourselves in the realm of work.

John (born 23.7.1959) and Joan ( born 9.1.1954) have their Age Point in the 9th House, which corresponds to the life phase where the life philosophy of the individual is formed. It’s a time of being able to stand our ground, and feel strong in our own life experience which has brought us to where we are and has taught us what we know about life. Personal life philosophies and wisdom take root and become part of our outlook on life during this phase, which covers ages 48 to 54.

Ann (born 18.3.1950) and Barbara (born 18.11.1951) both have the hand of the LifeClock moving through the 10th House of the chart. This is the highest point of the chart, the culmination of life experience, especially in the field of work, so it’s likely that these two ladies will feel a certain amount of authority in what they do or say, especially if they are working. If my memory serves me correctly, Barbara is working in a responsible position in a local hospital and from what she said on air, she knows her job through and through, gets praise and recognition for the efficiency she displays, and is respected for her thoroughness. This life phase covers ages 54 to 60.

Tony (born 8.1.1947) was celebrating his 60th birthday on the day of the broadcast, and as he is a friend of presenter Tim Wedgwood’s dad, Tim asked if we could surprise him by looking at his planetary line up. Tony’s Age Point at 60 is on the cusp of the 11th House, which represents the life phase of being downright choosy about our friendships and the people we seek to spend time with. We no longer want to waste time on being with people willy-nilly, but will actively choose to spend our time with those who share similar viewpoints and aims in life. Our relationships will be with others of like mind, and we will want to enjoy life more as we travel through the life phase that covers ages 60 to 66.

Jackie (born 1.4.1938) was happy to take a bit of teasing about being born on April Fool’s Day, and cheerfully agreed that her focus was on taking time out for herself, as befits her Age Point in the 12th House. This is a period of life when people often review all that has gone before in life, maybe check out those things they have not done which they wish they had, and then decide to take the plunge and do them! There is a period of reorientation between ages 66 and 72, which allows us to be even more choosy about where and how we spend our time and energy, which is not as vibrant as it was when younger, and perhaps to take on a new life style which will provide space for new things to come in.

If you are fascinated about astrology and are keen to find out more, you can read about the Astrological Houses, Planets, Signs of the Zodiac and much, much more in my book “The Cosmic Egg Timer - an Introduction to the Huber Method”, available from the APA Book Shop. And if you want your very own Huber style chart to work and explore as you read the book, you can get one of these, too, from the APA Chart Data Service.
